Healing Starts with Being Truly Heard.
Psychotherapy is one of the most powerful tools in mental health care not because it offers quick fixes, but because it creates lasting change. Our licensed therapists use evidence-based approaches tailored to who you are, what you’ve experienced, and where you want to go.

Evidence-Based Approaches
Therapy That Actually Works
Our therapists are trained in multiple evidence-based modalities not locked into a single approach. We match the therapy to the patient, not the other way around. Here are the primary approaches we use at Assertive Comprehensive Care.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The gold standard for depression and anxiety. CBT identifies and restructures distorted thought patterns that drive emotional distress — producing measurable, lasting change in how you think, feel, and behave.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Originally developed for borderline personality disorder, DBT is now used widely for emotional dysregulation, self-harm, eating disorders, and trauma. It combines cognitive techniques with mindfulness and distress tolerance.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Explores how unconscious patterns, early relationships, and unresolved conflicts shape your current emotional life. Ideal for deeper, longer-term work on identity, relationships, and recurring life themes.
Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT)
A specialized adaptation of CBT designed specifically for trauma survivors. TF-CBT processes traumatic memories safely and systematically, reducing PTSD symptoms while building resilience and coping capacity.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing uses bilateral stimulation to help the brain process and integrate traumatic memories — often producing significant relief in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy.
Motivational Interviewing
A collaborative, patient-centered approach that strengthens a person’s own motivation to change. Particularly effective for addiction, ambivalence, and behavior change challenges.
Children • Adolescents • Families
HELPING CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS THRIVE
Our approach to mental health care extends beyond managing symptoms. We provide specialized support for children from ages 5 and up, adolescents, and families, looking at the whole picture considering emotional well-being, development, family dynamics, academic functioning, and relationships to support healthy growth and long-term success.
Common Signs & Concerns
It can sometimes be challenging to know if a child is going through a normal developmental phase or if they need extra support. Here are some common signs that parents often notice:
- Difficulty Focusing or Staying Organized
- Excessive Worry or Fearfulness
- Frequent Sadness or Irritability
- Changes in Sleep or Appetite
- Emotional Outbursts or Behavioral Changes
- Social Withdrawal or Relationship Difficulties
- Declining School Performance
- Repetitive Behaviors or Rigid Routines
When Should You Seek Professional Support?
We offer specialized evaluation, diagnosis, and comprehensive treatment for a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs:
- ADHD & Attention Difficulties
- Anxiety & Excessive Worry
- Depression, Sadness, or Irritability
- Academic or School Difficulties
- Sleep Problems
- Behavioral Challenges
- Social Difficulties
- OCD Symptoms & Repetitive Behaviors
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
The earlier emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns are recognized and addressed, the greater the opportunity for confidence, success, and lifelong resilience.
